The Festival
For more than twenty years, we have honored the annual arrival of nearly 35,000 sandhill cranes in Othello, Washington every March as they journey north to their breeding habitats in Alaska. This Festival provides a fantastic chance to observe the cranes up close, guided by local experts. Additionally, it features specialized tours highlighting the region's flora, fauna, and geology, along with engaging lectures and activities for children.
Over the years, the Festival has expanded, attracting returning participants from all over the country.
The 2025 Festival is scheduled
for March 21-23, 2025.

The Othello Sandhill Crane Festival is coordinated by the Grant County Conservation District and is made possible by the generous contributions of our dedicated volunteers, board members, sponsors, and the experts who share their passions with us.
